When police arrived at the address, several people were on a sidewalk detaining 37-year-old Brian Tyner, whom they identified as the shooter, and they directed officers to a handgun they reportedly had taken from him.
"Investigators have determined that although the shooting occurred on the third floor, both the victim and suspect had visited the Cielo Rooftop Lounge on the fifth floor, which is accessed via an elevator on the third floor," Maggi said. "The third floor houses a comedy club, which was reportedly closed at the time of the shooting."
