Though exactly how the victim's death came about was not immediately clear, homicide detectives were called in to take charge of the case.
"It is still early in the investigation, and little is known about the circumstances leading up to the (stabbing)," SDPD Lt. Steve Shebloski said Thursday afternoon. "However, detectives have learned there was some type of argument between the (victim) and a (woman) that occurred in a vehicle they were in. During that argument, a knife was present, and the (man) suffered a fatal stab wound. ... Currently, the (woman's) role in this incident is still being evaluated."
