Victims Of Recent Fatal San Diego-Area Traffic Accidents ID'd

Authorities have publicly identified seven people who lost their lives in recent weeks in San Diego-area traffic accidents.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Authorities have publicly identified seven people who lost their lives in recent weeks in San Diego-area traffic accidents.

The most recent of the roadway fatalities took place June 15, when a car struck 53-year-old Joshua Gentle of San Diego at the intersection of Clairemont Drive and Iroquois Avenue in Bay Park, according to the county Medical Examiner's Office. Paramedics took Gentle to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 10 p.m., the county agency reported.

On June 6, Kevin Webb, 46, was mortally injured in his hometown of El Cajon when the motorcycle he was riding crashed on Interstate 8 near Greenfield Drive shortly after 11:30 p.m., according to the medical examiner. An ambulance crew took him to Sharp Memorial Hospital San Diego, where he succumbed to his injuries 17 days later.

On June 4, a 21-year-old Riverside County woman was killed in a crash in a Pacific Beach intersection, the county agency reported. Savannah Marquez of Hemet, who was riding in a car that collided with an SUV at Grand Avenue and Mission Bay Drive shortly before 10 p.m., died at the scene of the accident.

Early that same day, Michael Redzio of Saddle Brook, New Jersey, lost his life in a crash in the 1200 block of East Harbor Drive in National City. Redzio, 24, was driving a pickup truck that veered off the street and struck a forklift at a construction site at about 2 a.m., according to the medical examiner.

He died before paramedics could take him to a hospital.

Four days earlier, 22-year-old Corbin Hamilton of Weatherford, Texas, was fatally injured when the motorcycle he was piloting collided head-on with a truck in the 15200 block of state Route 67 in Poway at about 11:45 a.m., the county agency reported. Hamilton died at the site of the May 31 crash.

A day earlier, Brian Reed, 62, apparently lost control of his truck in the 2400 block of Mother Grundy Truck Trail in his hometown of Jamul, sending it crashing into a tree, according to the medical examiner. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene shortly before noon.

On the morning of May 29, a vehicle fatally struck a 22-year-old pedestrian alongside the Interstate 805 offramp to 43rd Street in National City, the county agency reported. Claudia Hernandez, a National City resident, succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
