Woman Found Dead Inside San Diego Hotel Room

SAN DIEGO, CA — A woman was found dead inside a hotel room in San Diego, authorities said Tuesday.

Officers responded at 9:54 p.m. Monday to a report of an unresponsive woman who appeared to be dead in a room at the La Cresta Hotel located at 4980 El Cajon Blvd. in the City Heights neighborhood, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Police said the 22-year-old woman was found suffering from trauma to her upper body inside the room, where she was pronounced dead. Her name was withheld pending family notification.

"Due to the woman's injuries, San Diego Police Homicide Detectives were called to the scene and are investigating this incident," the department said in a statement. "It is not yet known what events led to her death."
