SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A man who allegedly barricaded himself inside his home with a firearm Sunday morning in San Francisco's Sunset District was found dead by police after nearly more than three hours of crisis negotiation, police said.
At 8:12 a.m., police responded to reports of a person with a firearm "making threats" inside a home in the 2300 block of 26th Avenue, according to a statement from the San Francisco Police Department.
Police officers tried to make contact, but the person refused to exit his home and barricaded himself inside. No one else was in the residence, police said.

At 11:46 a.m., police gained entry inside the home and found an adult male inside who was unresponsive. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene.
