NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed on Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

A 10-year-old boy and 9-year-old girl were killed after their mother hit a tree on an exit near Highway 29 in Napa Sunday. The 31-year-old mother was hospitalized with major injuries, and will be arrested on suspicion of DUI after she is released, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A plane also crashed near Byron Airport late Saturday morning in unincorporated Contra Costa County, according to the Contra Costa Fire Protection District. The two passengers were unharmed, authorities said.
