2 Dead Bodies Found On BART Trains In 2 Days

No foul play is suspected in either death, a BART spokesperson said.

OAKLAND, CA — Two people were found dead aboard BART trains in the Bay Area in as many days, according to authorities who say they are investigating what happened.

Both people's cause of death was not immediately known, but BART spokesperson Chris Filippi said foul play is not suspected at this time, and there is no indication the cases are related.

Filippi could not say how often bodies are found on the trains.

"Every case has unique circumstances," Filippi told Patch. "But I do know that we have not yet had any homicides in the BART system this year."

The first person was found on Monday around 5:43 p.m. at the West Oakland Station, BART officials said.

First responders found an unresponsive 30-year-old man aboard the train, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. He was identified by the Alameda County Sheriff's Office as Oakland resident Martell Manson Perry.

A 43-year-old woman was then found dead just before 1 a.m. Tuesday at the Bay Fair Station, according to officials. She had also been found unresponsive by first responders. Authorities have yet to identify the woman.
