2 Detained, Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Broad Daylight Mission Shooting
A man was shot in the Mission late Monday afternoon, and police detained two people.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A man is fighting life-threatening injuries, and two people have been detained in connection with a broad daylight shooting that shut down Mission Street Monday afternoon, the San Francisco Police Department announced.
The shooting happened just before 3 p.m. Monday. San Francisco police officers from Mission Station were patrolling the area of the 1900 block of Mission Street when a shooting occurred in the immediate area, according to the SFPD.
Responding officers provided aid to a man suffering from gunshot wounds, police said.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
The officers at the scene detained two individuals, the SFPD confirmed.

The San Francisco Police Department had issued an advisory Monday afternoon, around 3:30 p.m., to "avoid the area of Mission St between 15th and 16th St due to Police Activity." Yellow police tape prevented cars and people from entering the block where the investigation was underway, as Patch reported.
By 5:49 p.m. Monday, police issued an update about the incident, stating it was resolved and that emergency personnel were no longer at the scene.
Around 6 p.m. Monday, Patch found that vehicular traffic was active on Mission Street between 15th and 16th Streets, and people were walking on the block’s sidewalks. All police and emergency vehicles had left the area, and the yellow tape had been removed.
