2 Hospitalized Following High-Speed Crash In SF: Fire Officials

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Two people were hospitalized following a high-speed crash involving multiple vehicles in San Francisco on Tuesday morning, authorities said.

A driver appeared to be having a medical emergency when they crashed into another driver just before 6:30 a.m. in the area of Richardson and Francisco streets, the San Francisco Police Department told Patch.

The driver continued traveling for several blocks before coming to a stop when it struck two unoccupied cars and a building in the area of Broderick and Lombard streets, police said. The driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crashed the second time, the San Francisco Fire Department said in a post on social media.

The driver of the car and a person inside the building it crashed into were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. No other injuries were reported, police said.

The San Francisco Department of Building Inspection also responded to the scene to inspect the damage that was caused to the building, authorities said.
