NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into Northern California's top stories, residents should know that a freeze warning is un effect until 9 a.m. Monday and a frost advisory will be in effect from 1-9 a.m. Tuesday for most of the San Francisco Bay Area and Central Coast, according to the National Weather Service.
After a cold start to the week, a pair of winter storms is expected to bear down on California. The initial system will bring light to moderate rain showers to the Bay Area, while a powerful atmospheric river is then expected to bring heavy rain and strong wind to the region.

"Cold and dry conditions will continue through Tuesday," NWS San Francisco forecasters wrote Monday. "Rain chances return Tuesday night before a potent atmospheric river brings substantial rain and strong wind Wednesday night through Friday morning."
In other news, two women were arrested and six people were sent to the hospital in San Francisco after a police chase involving a vehicle ended in a crash into a parklet, authorities said.
