In disturbing news, a 28-year-old Sacramento man is accused of beheading his one-year-old son with a knife, and assaulting his wife and mother-in-law. Authorities noticed a severed head in the room, and called in homicide detectives. The suspect is being held without bail.
In other sad news, a body found in a Gilroy waterway has been identified by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office as Gabriel Laradelara, 21, who was reported missing Dec. 1.

If you’re planning to travel around the Bay for Christmas, bring a raincoat and get your windshield wipers checked. A “parade of storm systems” is set to slam the coast, bringing heavy rain and “life-threatening” swimming and surfing conditions, according to the National Weather Service. While Christmas Day is expected to be dry, Monday and Tuesday will bring significant rain, with flooding expected near the coast.
