Beloved French Bulldog Still Missing After Armed Dognapping Suspect Arrested In East Bay
SFPD arrested a suspect in the snatch-and-run theft of a French bulldog, but the investigation into Hank's whereabouts continues.
EAST BAY, CA — Police arrested an Oakland man suspected in the brazen theft of a French bulldog in San Francisco, but the search for the pet continues.
Hank was taken from his owner in the 400 block of Castro Street in San Francisco, police said.
Hank was described as a fawn-colored French bulldog with a black mask and a stocky build, valued at more than $950.

The theft happened about 11:44 p.m. on Dec. 10. Hank's owner told police that a man grabbed Hank from the sidewalk where they were standing and fled.
On Wednesday, San Francisco Police identified Dante Shaw, 44, as the suspect.

Police arrested Shaw in his car at the intersection of San Carlos Avenue and High Street in East Oakland.
Shaw was charged with grand theft and is being held at the San Francisco County Jail, police said.
