SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Lord Stanley, a beloved bistro that has collected several fine dining accolades, including a Michelin Star, over the past decade is closing, the owners announced Tuesday.

The restaurant, which opened at 2065 Polk Street in San Francisco's Russian Hill neighborhood 10 years ago, will close May 31.

Owners Carrie and Rupert Blease and Hazel announced the closure over Instagram on Tuesday morning.

"This is a decision that we have thought about for quite some time, and it was one of the hardest we have ever had to make, but all things must come to an end," the owners wrote. "We plan on our last few months to be nothing short of a celebration for Lord Stanley and those who contributed tirelessly over the years."

"Let’s go out with the bang that LS deserves," they wrote.

The eatery earned a Michelin star its first year in business, which it kept until the restaurant shifted its business model in 2020 to spend a period hosting traveling chefs from all over the world under "Turntable."

"To all the #Turntable family of outstanding chefs that have joined us over the last few years, you taught us all so much and we are so happy to now call you our friends," the Bleases wrote on Instagram.

Just last year, the Bleases, who hail from Los Angeles and England respectively, flipped back to their fine dining roots when the eatery turned to a "California Bistro de Luxe" concept — a French menu with a West Coast twist.

Lord Stanley continues to offer staples like its duck a l'orange , Wagyu sirloin, dungeness crab toast and more until its closure this spring.

But this doesn't necessarily mark the end for the Bleases.

“We have roots here now and have met many wonderful people, so we have no plans to leave,” Carrie told the San Francisco Chronicle.

Carrie and Rupert told the Chronicle that they plan to stay in the city to raise their daughter and that they will soon announce a new restaurant project.
