Bunny Rescue On Bay Bridge Results In 'Hoppy Ending': CHP
A "hare-raising" chase ensued as an adventurous rabbit recently attempted to hop across the Bay Bridge.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Two California Highway Patrol officers rescued a rabbit who on Oct. 19 attempted to cross the Bay Bridge.
Officers J. Landquist and H. Contreras received a call from an eagle-eyed driver that spotted the bunny hopping along the raised catwalk on I-80 heading towards Treasure Island.
"As CHP Officers Landquist and Contreras arrived in the area, they quickly hopped into action and approached the wayward bunny," read a CHP social media post. "The bunny began feverishly hopping [eastbound] away from the officers along the right lanes and catwalk, eluding capture for several minutes, while also hopping [westbound] attempting to flee back towards San Francisco."

The officers devised a place to detain the rabbit and retrieved flares from their patrol cars and corralled the bunny after its 12-minute attempt to flee.
The officers named the rabbit “Hops-A-Lot” and transported it safely off the bridge, and later turned it over to San Francisco Animal Control for care.
