NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into Northern California's top stories, residents should expect warmer and drier weather this week, followed by cooler weather and possible rain this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
"More seasonal (warmer and drier) weather arrives today and persists through the work week," NWS San Francisco forecasters wrote Monday. "Another round of disturbed weather arrives next weekend with overcast skies, cooler weather, and strong winds, and a few rain drops possible."

In other news, a firefighter was injured and two families were displaced by a residential blaze; a semi-truck with more than 400 pounds of cocaine was seized; a homeowner was arrested after chasing a door-to-door salesman with a gun; and two people were arrested after a burned body with gunshot wounds was found.
Also, law enforcement agencies across the Bay Area warned the public about an alarming rise in vehicle thefts tied to violent criminal activity.
