Cassava's New North Beach Location Opens Oct. 12

Cassava is set to open the doors for their new location in the heart of the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco (on the iconic Columbus Avenue, at the corner of Vallejo Street) on October 12th, 2022 for regular dinner service. They will also be open on October 9th for a special service during the day to coincide with the neighborhood’s Italian Heritage Parade. Expanding their footprint and opportunity for positive impact, this larger space offers not just an upstanding culinary point of view, but an elevation of social consciousness.

With bright visions for the future, Cassava’s founders and owners, Yuka Ioroi and Kristoffer Toliao, saw the stars align and acted upon an extremely rare opportunity to open another eatery. A serendipitous space, Cassava’s new digs is a restaurant (formerly Pinocchio) that the now husband-wife team visited on their first romantic trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco in 2007. Little did the couple know that one day they’d not only be married, but also be the proud owners of this legendary location.

With renovations led by a female General Contractor and female Mechanical Engineer, the new North Beach Cassava offers 40 seats inside plus bar seating for 10. In addition to the fresh ambiance, communal tables will look out large windows with other tables providing a unique view of the kitchen. There will also be super wide dog-friendly sidewalk seating for 40. Many fixtures of their beloved menu will continue to be offered at the new location including their affordable fine dining 3 course prix-fixe menu ($48-52).

Inclusive of all people, passionate about wage equity and working to eliminate the classism and racism rampant in the industry, Cassava is a catalyst for change.
