Pleasanton's Richert Lumber's team adopted Ace in 2016 from the Valley Humane Society. His mousing skills and long meows have helped him make quite a few friends along the way.

Ace moved to Sacramento in December, but he’ll be replaced by Bert and Ernie, shop officials said.

Bay Area Woman Raising Money For Ukraine Street Dogs, Rescuers: Report

A Ukrainian-born San Leandro woman who’s had enough of watching the horrific images from her war-torn country is doing what she can to make a difference a half a world away.

Jena Dzitsiuk helped found Transform A Street Dog, a group that works to rescue street dogs in Ukraine and bring them to the U.S. for adoption, ABC7 reports.

Fred Bobbitt Memorial Fund Established

The fund named after a beloved Fremont police captain who died month last will benefit youth scholarships.

Fred Bobbitt grew up in Fremont, attended Fremont schools and served the Fremont Police Department for over 30 years.

A local business owner who's had enough of the horrific images of war flooding television news and social media sites this past week is taking matters into her own hands.

Fresh Coat Painters Serving Marin owner Kim Pace said she's committed to doing what she can to help the people of Ukraine under attack amid Russia's full-scale military invasion.

Pace has promised to donate $50 to Ukraine's Red Cross for every new contract this month valued at $3,000 or more.
