SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Salt & Straw has declared that it is taking a stand against food waste with the return of its Upcycled Foods Series, launching April 4 in scoop shops including San Francisco's two locations.

The annual Earth Month campaign, now in its third year, transforms often-wasted ingredients into unique and indulgent ice cream flavors.

Co-founder and head ice cream innovator Tyler Malek has partnered with seven sustainability-driven brands to craft a lineup that showcases over-ripened bananas, forgotten coffee beans, surplus stone fruit, and more, offering a delicious solution to the millions of pounds of food wasted each year in the U.S.
