Gun-Toting 18-Year-Old Arrested At SF Carnaval Celebration
Police said an 18-year-old man brought a loaded gun to the celebration, then fled police.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — An 18-year-old man was arrested over the weekend during San Francisco's Carnaval celebration after allegedly fleeing from police with a loaded firearm, authorities said.
Just before 5 p.m. Saturday, officers patrolling the Mission District responded to reports of a fight near 24th and Balmy streets. As officers arrived on scene, they spotted a man running from the area carrying a bag, police said Tuesday.
The suspect reportedly dashed into a public restroom at a nearby community park. Officers pursued and detained him, discovering a loaded firearm inside his bag, the San Francisco Police Department said in a statement Tuesday.

The suspect, identified as Adrian Zuniga, was taken into custody and booked into jail on suspicion of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded gun in public, being a felon in possession of ammunition, committing a felony while out on bail, resisting arrest, and destroying or concealing evidence.
As of Tuesday, Zuniga remained in custody with bail set at $50,000.
