"Surface temperatures look to peak on Tuesday and potentially into Wednesday, with the warmest... temperatures expected," NWS Bay Area forecasters wrote Sunday. "Heat Risk Levels look to peak in the moderate category with no head [warnings or advisories[ currently anticipated. That said, still expect to see the region's warmest interior areas reach between 100 - 105 [degrees]."

Despite the heat, there is a small chance for rain showers developing across the Santa Clara Valley and Santa Cruz Mountains through Monday, but widespread precipitation or thunderstorms appear unlikely, forecasters said. Temperatures are due to cool back to their seasonal norms by Friday.
