Here's What World Cup Games Will Be Played In The Bay Area
FIFA announced that the Bay Area will get six World Cup games this summer.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — FIFA has released its schedule for the 2026 World Cup games, which will take place across the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The inaugural game will take place between Mexico and South Africa in Mexico City on Thursday, June 11. The two teams last played each other during the inaugural game of the 2010 South Africa World Cup.
The World Cup final is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 19, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The Bay Area, meanwhile, will host six out of the 104 scheduled games this summer. Games scheduled for the Bay Area will take place at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.
The first game in the Bay Area will take place Saturday, June 13, between Qatar and Switzerland, followed by four more group stage games:

- Austria vs. Jordan (Tuesday, June 16)
- Paraguay vs. TBD (Friday, June 19)
- Jordan vs. Algeria (Monday, June 22)
- Paraguay vs. Australia (Thursday, June 25)
The Bay Area will get one playoff game on Wednesday, July 1, hosting the winners of the D bracket versus one of the teams to make it out of the E, F, G, I or J bracket.
The Bay Area last hosted World Cup games during the 1994 games in the United States and the Women's World Cup in 1999.
The upcoming month-long tournament will see 48 teams battle for glory for the first time in history.
