Man Accused Of Attempted Murder In Vallejo Arrested After Crash

A man accused of attempting to murder a woman in Vallejo was arrested after a crash days later.

VALLEJO, CA — A man who was accused of shooting a woman in Vallejo on Thursday was arrested Saturday in Sacramento, according to the Vallejo Police Department.

The woman was shot in the 100 block of Forest Ridge Drive at about 11 a.m. and took herself to the hospital.

She was admitted with critical injuries, police said on Sunday.

The alleged shooter was identified as 34-year-old Stockton resident Michael Cochise Pollard, who was believed to be in Sacramento.

The Vallejo Police Department asked the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office to look out for Pollard, and he was spotted in the 4500 block of Ledronne Drive at about 8:25 p.m. Saturday, police said in a statement.

He was taken into custody by sheriff's deputies after allegedly refusing to pull over for a traffic stop and crashing into another vehicle, before a brief foot chase.

The driver of the other vehicle was hospitalized with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

Pollard was transferred to Vallejo police custody before being booked into Solano County Jail on multiple allegations, including attempted homicide and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
