New Argentinian-Italian Restaurant, Morella, Opens In Marina District
San Francisco's latest dining concept showcases Argentina's Italian culinary influences.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — San Francisco’s Marina District welcomed Morella, the city’s first Argentinian-Italian restaurant, on Saturday. Located at the intersection of Fillmore and Chestnut Streets, the restaurant is Proof Positive’s sixth concept with an innovative blend of Argentinian and Italian cuisine, including signature dishes inspired by Italian migration to Argentina in the early 20th century.
Executive Chef and co-owner Jesus Dominguez, formerly of Taj Campton Place, has taken the lead in the kitchen.
Highlighting a diverse menu, Morella offers signature antipasti like empanadas, prosciutto bruschetta, and risotto croquettes, as well as wood-fired Argentinian-style grilled meats, pasta, and unique items such as “Dirty Martini” dip.

Featured main dishes include lamb burgers with mint yogurt sauce, braised short rib, and Argentinian picanha steak, in addition to pasta options inspired by Italian and Argentinian traditions.

A vibrant cocktail menu celebrates the restaurant’s cultural inspiration, with cocktails named “Spritzy,” “Sassy,” “Classy,” and “Messy”—the latter paying homage to famed soccer player Lionel Messi.

Proof Positive founder Kingston Wu highlighted the importance of employee ownership in Morella, reflecting his gratitude for long-time employees who have joined as co-owners in the venture.
Morella also features a bottle club, Smoked Spirit Society, offering members exclusive perks and events around premium whiskey selections.
