2. Dog Missing After Owner Attacked In San Francisco: Police (patch.com) — San Francisco police are searching for a missing dog named Charlotte Rose after her 65-year-old owner was critically injured in an assault near Post and Leavenworth streets. Investigators say the suspect kicked the dog, causing her to run off, then attacked the man, who was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Residents with information are urged to contact SFPD to help locate the microchipped dog.

3. San Francisco firefighters get new gear free of cancer-causing chemicals (sfchronicle.com) — San Francisco firefighters are getting new PFAS-free protective gear this month, making the city the largest in the nation to fully switch to cancer-safer uniforms. Backed by federal grants and local funds, the move follows a 2024 city PFAS ban and a new statewide law modeled on San Francisco’s approach, aiming to reduce cancer risks for more than 1,100 frontline firefighters.

4. Oregon Signee Tommy Tofi Honored as a 2026 Navy All-American (nbcsports.com) — A standout offensive lineman from San Francisco’s Archbishop Riordan High School, Tommy Tofi has been named a 2026 Navy All-American and will play in the nationally televised All-American Bowl. The honor spotlights local high school talent on a big stage, with Tofi now eligible for several major individual awards tied to the game.

5. WATCH: Breathtaking Video Shows Moment Pilot Tried ‘Shutting Off' Engines On Packed Flight (trendingpoliticsnews.com) — A 2023 Horizon Air flight headed for San Francisco from Washington was nearly sabotaged midair when an off-duty pilot tried to pull engine fire handles, forcing an emergency diversion to Portland.
