Ruptured Gas Line Triggers Evacuations Near Mission Dolores Park
The San Francisco Fire Department issued an alert about a gas line strike on Oakwood Street shortly after 12 p.m. Tuesday.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Around 12 p.m. Tuesday, the San Francisco Fire Department issued an advisory about a high-pressure gas line that was struck during construction at the intersection of 9 Oakwood Street and 18th Street. The gas line was struck at 11:24 a.m., SFFD reported.
Oakwood Street was closed between 18th and 19th Streets, fire officials said. Pacific Gas and Electric was called to the scene to assist.
"Nearby residents were evacuated or advised to shelter in place on the zero block of Oakwood Street, as well as on 18th and 19th Streets," SFFD stated.

As of 11:50 a.m., the gas leak was closed and mitigated, according to the SFFD. They reported that no injuries occurred as a result of the gas leak and that construction efforts will continue in the area.
"Emergency personnel will be released from the scene as the hazard has been mitigated and the site is being transferred back to the construction crews," officials said.

Residents who were evacuated or asked to shelter in place are allowed to return to the area.
