San Francisco Diocesan Officials Learn Priests Who Manage Peninsula Seminary Will Quit

The priests who manage and provide academic services in Menlo Park will no longer provide those services.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The Archdiocese of San Francisco was informed Friday that the priests who manage and provide academic services to St. Patrick's Seminary & University in Menlo Park will no longer provide those services, according to diocesan officials.

The Society of the Priests of St. Sulpice provided academic and management services to St. Patrick's at 320 Middlefield Road for 118 years and their work will end at the end of the academic year on June 30, 2017.
A statement by the archdiocese and the seminary's board of trustees said they want to thank the Sulpicians for their service to the Archdiocese of San Francisco and other nearby dioceses.

The trustees said they regret not having the opportunity to explore the idea of forming a new collaborative management model with them.
