San Francisco 'Mystery Girl' Found Buried In Coffin Last Year Identified

The Garden of Innocence project has identified the girl as two-year-old Edith Howard Cook.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The little girl in the gold and bronze coffin, uncovered last year during a home remodel in San Francisco, has been identified as Edith Howard Cook, according to a story in SF Gate.

The nonprofit Garden of Innocence project said the girl died in 1876, and was the daughter of Horatio and Edith Cook, a high society couple in late 19th century San Francisco.
