SigAlert: Multi-Car Crash On Southbound 101 Freeway In SF Causing 'Severe' Traffic Delays
Authorities advise drivers to take alternative routes.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A multi-car crash along the Southbound 101 Freeway in San Francisco is causing “severe” traffic delays, according to transit officials.
The crash was reported just before 8 a.m. north of Cesar Chavez Street, according to SigAlert.
It's unclear what prompted the crash, but according to the California Highway Patrol's traffic incident site, it involved six cars.

The left lanes on the freeway, however, are blocked, according to 511SFBay, a traffic site operated in collaboration with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, CHP and Caltrans.
According to SigAlert, the crash completely stopped traffic, and drivers can expect delays of up to 10 minutes. Authorities advise drivers to take alternative routes as it's unclear when the roads will clear.
