Two Police Officers Injured in SF Collision, One Remains Hospitalized
UPDATE: Officials say their patrol car was struck by an SUV Sunday evening in San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA- One police officer remains in the hospital today following a collision in San Francisco's Bayview District on Sunday evening. Two patrol officers were injured in the crash at Phelps Street and Evans Avenue shortly before 5:20 p.m. when a 2004 white Lexus RX330 SUV driven by a 76-year-old man struck their patrol car, according to police.
The officers were taken to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries that included cuts and complaints of pain to the head, neck and chest, but are expected to survive their injuries. One has since been released, while a second remains in the hospital as of this afternoon, police said.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with police. No arrest in the case had been reported as of this morning.

Two police officers suffered injuries not considered life-threatening when their patrol car was struck by an SUV this evening in San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood, a police spokesman said.
The collision occurred at 5:35 p.m. at Evans Avenue and Phelps Street, police spokesman Officer Carlos Manfredi said. The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene after the collision and cooperated with police.
The injured officers were taken to San Francisco General Hospital, Manfredi said.
