Fairfax Extends Eviction Moratorium
The state's current eviction moratorium is scheduled to expire at the end of this month.
FAIRFAX, CA — Fairfax has extended a ban on residential evictions through the end of September, town officials said.
The Fairfax Town Council’s approval of an ordinance that extends the eviction ban comes as the state’s current eviction moratorium is scheduled to expire at the end of this month.
The Fairfax Town Council cited concerns about housing instability as a key factor its decision to extend its moratorium on residential evictions.

“… housing instability continues to threaten the public peace, health and safety as eviction can lead to homelessness; loss of community; stress and anxiety caused by the experience of displacement, among other issues,” town officials said.
“Therefore, the Town Council adopted an urgency ordinance to extend the moratorium in the Town of Fairfax through September 2022.“
