Fairfax Nixes Proposed Dispensary

FAIRFAX, CA — The Fairfax Town Council last week in the face of local opposition rejected a proposed new cannabis dispensary.

The council by a 4-1 margin on March 2 voted deny an application by the company Element 7 for a cannabis dispensary at 1930 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., the site of Mana Bowls, an acai restaurant.

The town of just over 7,500 already has a dispensary, CBC Marin Alliance (6 School St., Suite #210).

A petition opposing the dispensary garnered more than 700 signatures, The Marin Independent Journal reports.
