Fairfax’s Sir Francis Drake Road Repair Nears Completion
The Dec. 13 discovery of a sink hole precipitated the project.
FAIRFAX, CA — Crews are nearing completion of structural repairs to a major Marin roadway where a sink hole was discovered last month.
Traffic on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard has been reduced to one lane since the sink hole was discovered Dec. 13, town officials said.
The project expected to be completed by Jan. 19, town officials said.

“We recognize that having the lane closed and the traffic signals flashing red remains an inconvenience but every hour of work that can be completed during the workday is an hour sooner that all of the traffic restrictions can be removed and traffic flow for vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists can return to normal,” town officials said.
“Thank you for your patience as we complete this important work.”
