Got Something to Say? Blog It on Patch

We want YOU to blog.

Since May 4, San Anselmo-Fairfax Patch has been making room for local bloggers on the site.

Maybe you've checked out some of our great bloggers (all of whom can be found under the News tab in the menu bar, under Local Voices): former Mayor of Fairfax Mary Ann Maggiore, former San Anselmo Mayor Peter Breen writes about , Town Manager Debbie Stutsman runs her , MCBC Membership Director Tom Boss writes about , and there's nearly a dozen more bloggers from throughout the Ross Valley.

But, we're always looking for more passionate and engaged people, interested in getting their voices out. We're looking for bloggers who can write on various topics, share their personality and engage our readers in discussions.

Patch is more than a news site, it's an online conversation about your community.

  • Are you passionate about Marin's core issues? Or, even, just one issue?
  • Are you an expert craftsman or hobbyist who can share do-it-yourself tips?
  • Do you have strong opinions about what the town is doing right? Or wrong? About SMART or smart meters?
  • Can you write compellingly?
  • Can you just make us all laugh?

Then, we want to hear from you.

This isn't a reporting job. It's blogging. You write what you want to say when you want to say it. Do it on your schedule, whether that's posting multiple entries per day or a couple times a month.

We don't tell you what to do or how to do it. It's all up to you.

(Except, of course, don't lie, cheat or steal. And blogging won't be done anonymously.)

Patch won't own what you post, so you can repost your entries to your other blogs. We're just providing local bloggers an online platform to have their words seen by a larger audience.

Be interesting. Be provocative. Be yourself.

Since we started this new local voices feature, my role is simply to review blog entries submitted to San Anselmo-Fairfax Patch to ensure they meet our guidelines. I may make small spelling, grammar and style changes to help your blog shine, but there will be no rewrites, no major changes, no worrying that your voiced will get lost. I'll also make sure the best pieces are always featured right on our homepage -- for everyone in San Anselmo and Fairfax to see.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in or if you want to learn more about how it could work for you, email me at kellyd@patch.com.
