Marin Blaze Triggers Evacuations (Updated)
The blaze originated at 30 Mt. Lassen Drive in the Lucas Valley neighborhood of San Rafael according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office.
Update: All evacuation orders and warnings have been lifted, according to the Marin Sheriff's Office. Residents are urged to be careful when returning to the areas since fire & law personnel
remain in the area, along with numerous emergency vehicles.

Update: Bay City News reports that as of 4:40 p.m., firefighters had reached 20 percent containment of the fire, which has spread to 30 acres, the Marin County Fire Department said in a Twitter post. Firefighting ground crews and air support are both responding to the fire.
Firefighters and officials from the Marin County Sheriff's Office arrived at the site of the blaze near Mt. Lassen Road around 2:30 p.m.

Evacuations have been ordered for residents who live between Lucas Valley Road between Las Gallinas Avenue and Bridgegate Drive and Marinwood Open Space.
Evacuees are advised to travel toward U.S. Highway 101.
Residents are advised to avoid the area and should only call 911 if they are experiencing a life-threatening emergency.

The blaze is visible in Novato but no evacuations have been ordered in Novato, according to police.

SAN RAFAEL, CA – A San Rafael wildfire Wednesday afternoon has triggered evacuations, the San Rafael Police Department said.
Crews are responding to the blaze and have ordered “select evacuations” in the Lucas Valley neighborhood according to police.
