Marin Co. City Issues Advisory Amid Burglary Spike

City officials issued a statement Thursday that included burglary-prevention tips.

MILL VALLEY, CA — The city of Mill Valley issued an advisory Thursday amid a rise in burglaries.

“The Mill Valley Police Department and other Marin County agencies are experiencing an uptick in residential burglaries,” city officials said in a statement.

“The Mill Valley Police Department is diligently investigating these cases and working with our law enforcement partners.”

The advisory included these burglary-prevention tips:

  • Lock all your doors
  • Make your residence look occupied
  • Don’t leave packages outside
  • Leave interior and exterior lights on
  • Install surveillance cameras
  • Install security/alarm systems
