Online Tool Glitch Grounds American Airlines Flights

Officials expect flights to resume this afternoon.

 

American Airlines has grounded all its flights nationwide until 2 p.m. Pacific time Monday. 

A notice posted on the company's website reads: “American’s network system is experiencing intermittent outages. At this time, we are in a system-wide ground delay that will last until 4:00pm CST as we work to resolve this issue as quickly as we can. We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience.”

The airline previously reported it was experiencing problems with its online reservations and booking tool resulting in intermittent outages.

American Airlines is offering to change the flight reservations for travelers with flexible schedules free of cost. But for those with more rigid travel plans, the airline is offering full refunds.
