Power Outages Impact 100s Of Marin Customers

A group of outages reported Wednesday afternoon knocked out power for hundreds around Tiburon and unincorporated Marin, PG&E said.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — PG&E crews began addressing power outages Wednesday afternoon in Marin County as a powerful atmospheric river made its way into the Bay Area, packed with heavy rain and high winds.

As of 3 p.m. Wednesday, PG&E said 10 unplanned outages were impacting nearly 1,300 Marin customers located primarily around Tiburon and unincorporated areas. Power for most customers in the Tiburon area was restored by 3:20 p.m.

A flood watch will remain in place across the region until 4 a.m. Friday, and forecasters expected some of the heaviest rainfall during the evening. Projected rain totals ranged from 2 to 4 inches in much of the North Bay through Friday, with 3 to 5 inches possible along the Sonoma Coast Range.

Forecasters said strong wind gusts of 40 mph or higher would create additional hazards through Thursday morning, elevating risks for downed trees and additional power outages. Residents can track power outages and estimated repair times on the PG&E outage map.
