Unauthorized Fairfax Testing Site Shuttered: Report
San Diego County-based Community Wellness America uses a state-certified lab is not licensed to operate in Fairfax.
FAIRFAX, CA — An unauthorized coronavirus testing site in Fairfax has been shuttered, The San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The site run by San Diego County-based Community Wellness America was operating across the street from a health food store according to the report.
After being told by police they didn’t have permission to use the sidewalk, operators moved the site to a residential driveway, the report said.

Marin Health Officer Dr. Matt Willis told The Chronicle the company wasn’t authorized to operate from a private residence and raised concerns about its professionalism, noting the operators weren’t wearing uniforms.
Willis confirmed that the CWA uses a lab that is certified by the state.

“These in themselves are not violations of law, but I think are signals that this is outside of a normal health care framework that we expect for something as important as COVID-19 testing,” Willis said.
There was a line at the testing site according to the report, noting demand for testing has spiked amid a surge of cases driven by the highly contagious delta variant among the unvaccinated.
CWA has submitted an application to operate in Fairfax, CEO Steve Sterling told The Chronicle.
The United States on Monday reported a 124,470 daily new case average over 14-day period according to data analysis from The New York Times.
The latest epidemic has been described as a “pandemic of the unvaccinated” by leading medical authorities including the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Reuters reports.
"We face a pandemic of the unvaccinated, and the only way to stop it is to expand vaccination," PAHO director Carissa Etienne said last month.
"Vaccines are critical, even if no vaccine is 100% effective."
Although breakthrough cases are not uncommon, severe cases among the vaccinated are exceedingly rare. Upwards of 99.99 percent of vaccinated people have not experienced a breakthrough case resulting in hospitalization or death, CNN reports
