Weekend Update
Did you miss out on all the news during the week? Don't worry, we've got you covered.
Did you miss out on all the news this week? Don't know what your neighbors are talking about? Want to be caught up at the water cooler on Monday. Read on for all the news you can use:
- F. At least it's not raining yet -- rain in August would not bode well for the rest of the year.
- Zero waste by 2020? Do you think it can be done? Fairfax thinks so.
- The girls water polo team hopes to rebuild this year after the graduation of top player. (Look for the rest of our fall sports previews this week -- golf, tennis, volleyball.)
- Do you talk and drive? If you do, don't! (And, if you do, you'll probably get ticketed by the police.)
- Check out the business of the week: Elder Care Solutions. Dealing with the issue of aging relatives can be difficult, let them help you.
- School started. Maybe you didn't notice that what with all those extra kids walking and biking and driving to school.
- This was not the first time and it probably won't be the last time I write about the Ross Valley Sanitary District. But, it was certainly the first time I've seen multiple Mayors come to the Supervisors to complain about something.
- The San Anselmo Town Council had a busy night Tuesday. First, they limited off leash dog use at Robson-Harrington from 7-9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to closing, then they approved a revised green building ordinance.
- Maybe, you went outside once or twice on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday? You, probably, don't need me to tell you it was HOT.
- Road rage in San Anselmo: two 19-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of beating a 53-year-old Thursday evening.
- Lydia's Kitchen is back on Bolinas Avenue. Our reviewer wasn't crazy about it. Was she right or wrong?
- A former seminary student and founder of Spectrum was rebuked by the Presbyterian Church today for marrying 16 same-sex couples legally during 2008. It's the first time the church has rebuked a minister for performing same-sex marriages when they were state-sanctioned.
- New housing projects are being proposed at Christ Lutheran Church in Fairfax and at the old Mandarin Gardens site. Affordable and senior housing. And possible homeless shelters. And housing by Good Earth.
- Don't forget to check out our best bets for the weekend! (Of course, if you read them Sunday night, then you'll just see all the things you missed out on.)
