A Sign that Crestmoor Isn't Closing Without a Fight

Someone placed a sign in front of Crestmoor Elementary that speaks to the rallying cry building at the school among those who are opposed to having the school closed.

Sometime between and Wednesday, an interesting sign appeared in front of Crestmoor Elementary School.

The sign now covers the school's message board and reads: "CLOSED....if you don't contact Board to STOP NOW!" The sign also encourages residents to contact San Bruno Park schools trustees Jim Prescott and Kevin Martinez. (Thanks to the readers who gave the heads-up about the sign.)

It isn't yetΒ clear who created the sign, but it speaks to the rallying cry that is building at the school among those who are opposed to having the school closed.

The school board is expected to receive a report at its April 18 meeting from the school district committee that was tasked with making a recommedation about school closures, and the recommendation includes a suggestion to close Crestmoor.

It seems like some folks, at least, aren't going to let a school closure happen without a fight. Do other school communities feel the same way?
