Hooter's Among Businesses Caught Selling Alcohol to Minors

In addition to Hooter's, Walgreens and Speedy Spot convenience store furnished alcohol to minors, police said after recently conducting a decoy sting operation.

Hooter's in San Bruno and a Mollie Stone's grocery store in Burlingame were among 17 businesses in northern San Mateo CountyΒ that sold alcohol to minors in a decoy sting operation last week.

Minors working with law enforcement officials went into liquorΒ stores and restaurants in San Bruno, Colma, Daly City, Pacifica, South SanΒ Francisco and Brisbane and attempted to buy alcohol.

In each business where alcohol was sold to the minor, the employeeΒ faces criminal prosecution, and the business could be fined or have itsΒ license to sell alcohol revoked by the state Department of Alcoholic BeverageΒ Control.

According to police, three businesses in San Bruno furnished alcohol to minors:Β Walgreens, Hooter's and Speedy Spot convenience store.

Chipotle restaurant and Sizzler, both in Colma, were also caughtΒ in the decoy operation.

In Daly City, six businesses were caught: Hard Hat's Bistro, TheΒ Jug Shop, New Daly City Market, Plaza Liquor and Deli, Verona Coffee MarketΒ and DC Liquor and Deli.

In South San Francisco, J&J Market and Jailhouse Liquor and DeliΒ were caught, as well as four businesses in Burlingame: Mollie Stone's,Β Lucky's, Young's Liquor and R&M Broadway 76.
