Is It Fair For All 49ers Fans to Suffer When Only a Few Are to Blame?

The rowdy violence that overshadowed Sunday's preseason game between the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders has no impact on San Bruno.

Or does it? After all, San Bruno is 49ers territory (remember 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh's visit to the new St. Vincent de Paul store on El Camino Real?).

Whatever side of the fence you're on about this weekend's violence at Candlestick Park, one thing is for sure: If you're a 49ers fan and a Bay Area resident, you'll feel the impact of the decision that came down today from the 49ers front office.

San Francisco 49ers president Jed York today said the team is recommending that the National Football League suspend the annual preseason game against the Oakland Raiders.

York made the comments at a news conference at the football stadium this afternoon that was also attended by San Francisco police and Mayor Ed Lee.

Two men were shot near Candlestick Park and another was found beaten in a stadium restroom during and after Saturday's game.

The beating victim and one of the shooting victims suffered what were initially believed to be life-threatening injuries, but a San Francisco General Hospital spokeswoman said today that both are now in fair condition.

Several other fights in the stands and in the parking lot were caught on amateur video.

So my question to the San Bruno community is: Do you think York's decision was fair? Will you miss the annual preseason game against the Raiders? Or will you just be satisfied when the Giants play the A's?
