Lucille's List - A New Website for Senior Housing

Lucille's List, a new website, has a fresh vision for the oftentimes difficult and time consuming search for senior housing.

There is a new local website developed by two San Francisco women that is a mashup of an online dating website and a senior housing website. It’s called Lucille’s List (www.LucillesList.com).

Using technology that, until now, has been reserved for making love matches between people, Lucille’s List matches seniors with their ideal senior communities. Searchers input their financial requirements and health needs, hobbies, food preferences, background, careers and the type of people they’d like to live with, and let the matching engine do its thing! This allows people to live with others like them (affinity housing) or those that share their interests (activity-based living) or are of a certain ethnicity or religion (Chinese, Russian, Jewish).

There are 555 different senior housing options in San Francisco, Marin and San Mateo Counties, each visited by Lucille’s List’s founders, Tia Small and Hilary Parkhill. They gathered their collected data and photographs into their website which is designed to reduce the inevitable wasted time and frustration inherent in looking for a new living situation for a senior loved one.
