"Medicare Advantage" is not Medicare

I have seen many advertisements on this site for "Medicare Advantage". It is NOT Medicare. It IS private insurance. It requires preapproval for tests and procedures and any requests can be denied. True Medicare does NOT have those requirements. After a year in one of these private insurance programs it is almost impossible to enroll in true Medicare. Also, once a person becomes very ill the private insurance company can dump them. There is a bill pending in Congress to disallow these private insurance companies from using the name Medicare because it's a lie. Don't be fooled by these slick salespeople, they get huge commissions for every person they enroll!
