Road Rage Leads To Physical Assault Arrest, San Bruno Police Say

A San Bruno resident is under arrest for intentionally backing into a vehicle, then assaulting the driver.

SAN BRUNO, CA — A San Bruno resident is under arrest after a road rage incident led to a violent physical altercation that left the victim with significant injuries. San Bruno Police Officers arrested 41-year-old Joshua Ibarra and booked him into San Mateo County Jail for charges relating to the assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism, threatening a peace officer and the possession of controlled substances.

According to police, officers responded to a report of a fight at the intersection of Skyline Boulevard and College Drive just before 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. Their investigation revealed that Ibarra intentionally backed his vehicle into another and then fled the scene. As the victim followed Ibarra in an effort to photograph his license plate, officials say Ibarra pulled over suddenly and began physically attacking the victim, causing significant but non-life-threatening injuries.
