Carjacking Suspect Pleads Not Guilty
Alleged perpetrator in Carl's Jr. carjacking remains in county jail on $100,000 bail.

A 30-year-old Castro Valley man arrested last week in connection with a carjacking near pleaded not guilty in court on Monday.
arrested Jaime Campos on Friday after he allegedly stole a woman's car and was caught on the 1300 block of El Camino Real after he ran a red light and officers made a traffic stop. Campos was booked at San Mateo County Jail on $100,000 bail in connection with the carjacking and faces several felony charges.

At 12:59 p.m. Friday, police got a call that a carjacking had occurred in the Carl's Jr. parking lot at Bayhill Shopping Center on Cherry Avenue.
According to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office, Campos grabbed the keys out of the hands of a 53-year-old woman and knocked her down after she stopped in the fast food restaurant to buy a drink and was heading back to her car.

Officers were able to spot the car traveling south on El Camino Real and stopped Campos after he ran the red light, where he was arrested.
Campos is expected to return to court April 29 for a preliminary hearing.
