San Clemente High School Alumnus Nominated for College TV Awards

Campbell George is a Nominee for the Television Academy Foundation's 41st College Television Awards

Campbell George, an alumnus of San Clemente High School, has been nominated for the Television Academy Foundation’s 41st College Television Awards. The awards recognize and reward excellence in student-produced programs from colleges and universities nationwide. Winners in the competition will be announced by television stars at the awards ceremony on March 26.

George is nominated, along with three of his college classmates, in the ‘Commercial, PSA or Promo’ category for a spec commercial spot he wrote about a young man’s passion for his Mustang car titled “Life’s Journey”. George worked on the project while attending Brigham Young University in Utah.

“The best art and the best advertisements are based in human truths,” said George. “One that runs throughout this story is that love is a verb, deepened and expanded through sacrifice. Even if most of us don't sell our beloved Mustang to buy an engagement ring, giving up something valuable to you for something that's even more important is a universal experience.”

“Discovering writing has been as powerful and affirming a process as any in my life,” said George. “I want to make work that makes people stop, look around, and remember how beautiful and precious a thing life is.”

“For now, my sights are set on the agency world,” said George. “In the next five-to-ten years, however, I'd love to make the transition to television writing. I've written one teleplay already and I plan to write more.”
