Morning Traffic Stalled After San Juan Capistrano Rollover Crash

The crash was reported just before 8 a.m. Monday on the Interstate 5 freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — Commuters experienced extra traffic congestion while passing through San Juan Capistrano Monday morning, after a car rollover crash near the junction of the southbound Interstate 5 and the northbound state Route 73 stalled traffic on the freeway.

The crash was reported just before 8 a.m. Initial CHP logs reported that one person was injured after a gray sedan flipped several times on the freeway before landing on its roof in an embankment.

CHP Public Information Officer Rafael Reynoso told Patch that emergency services were called for the person inside of the flipped car, but the person did not suffer any injuries.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
