San Juan Capistrano To Host Blood Drive Amid Nationwide Shortage
The City of San Juan Capistrano is doing its part in providing life-saving blood to the American Red Cross.
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA — In the hopes of alleviating what it said to be the worst blood shortage in more than a decade, the City of San Juan Capistrano is hosting a blood drive on Thursday.
Residents interested in donating blood can sign up for an appointment at the American Red Cross website using sponsor code CityofSJC, City Manager Benjamin Siegel said in a statement. The blood drive will take place Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the San Juan Capistrano Community Center, 25925 Camino Del Avion.
In addition to providing life-saving blood to people who need it, residents who donate blood will automatically be entered into a raffle to win Super Bowl tickets and other prizes, the American Red Cross announced earlier this month.

Anyone who donates in January, which is National Blood Donor Month, will automatically be entered to win two tickets to Super Bowl LVI at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, the Red Cross said.
That's just the start, however. Donors will also be entered into a raffle for entry to the official NFL Tailgate, tickets to the Super Bowl Experience, round-trip airfare to LA, three-night hotel accommodations (Feb. 11-14), and a $500 gift card for expenses.
