$50,000 Reward Offered for Info on East Oakland Shootings
Police say someone fired on officers who were investigating the incident.
OAKLAND, CA — Oakland police said up to $50,000 in reward money is being offered for information about a drive-by shooting in East Oakland late Saturday night and subsequent gunfire a short time later at officers who were investigating the incident.
The initial shooting occurred in the 7700 block of Bancroft Avenue at about 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, police said. Seven victims between the ages of 27 and 45 were taken to local hospitals to be treated for gunshot wounds, according to police.
One of the victims is still in critical condition but one has been treated and released, police said. Additional shots were fired at 12:30 a.m. at officers who were investigating the initial shooting but none of the officers were injured and none of the officers returned fire, according to police.

A man with a gun was detained in the area following the second shooting but investigators are trying to determine if he is connected to either of the incidents, police said.
